Summary

The Director of Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics will have strong technical and leadership skills to develop and implement clinical pharmacology and modeling & simulation (M&S) strategies to advance development of novel oncology drug candidates across various stages of development for multiple modalities. We expect this person to develop and apply quantitative frameworks that enable model-informed drug discovery and development (MIDD) across programs. In addition, this position will ensure quantitative rigor and quality results through direct scientific mentorship.

Key responsibilities:

  • Accountable for developing a culture encouraging of MIDD approaches at Seattle Genetics, educating and influencing key partners, stakeholders and regulators of its value and application
  • By using state of the art M&S methodologies strongly contribute to decision making at critical milestones based on quantitative principles in close collaboration with Biostats, Clin Pharm and other quantitative disciplines
  • Represents Clinical Pharmacology and M&S on cross-functional drug development teams, proactively advocating model-based approaches to address development challenges
  • Conduct population PK, PK/PD, exposure-response analyses and other model-based analyses using pharmacostatistical and relevant state of the art modeling and simulation techniques to support dose selection, trial design, Go/No-Go decisions, regulatory submission documents, and publications
  • Strengthen our internal M&S capability on a continuous basis by initiating training activities, evaluating and incorporating new M&S tools as appropriate
  • Accountable to provide peer review and mentoring and supervision of junior staff
  • Coordinate outsourced M&S activities when appropriate
  • Monitoring external and internal environment in terms of relevant new methodologies and applications
